A bus carrying personnel from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) fell into the Sindh River in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday morning, July 30, 2025. The accident have occured near Kullan village during the heavy rainfall, which have caused slippery road conditions and also poor visibility.
According to officials
The bus have veered off the Kullan bridge and plunged into the river. The vehicle was transporting ITBP personnel when the incident occurred. Emergency teams from the State and Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Ganderbal and the SDRF Sub Component Gund have rushed to the site and also began a joint search and rescue operation immediately.
The driver of the bus
He have sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment. His condition is reported to be stable now. Fortunately, all ITBP personnel onboard were rescued safely, although the exact number of passengers has not been confirmed yet.
The accident also led to the loss of some weapons
Which was carried by the security personnel. So far, three weapons have been recovered from the river, and efforts are ongoing to retrieve all the remaining items.
Local authorities have not reported any fatalities
But the situation remains under a close watch. The rescue teams are now continuing their search to ensure that no one is left behind and to recover all the missing equipment.
