According to the ESPNCricinfo, the BCCI medical team advised that Bumrah to skip the final Test to protect his back and ensure his long-term fitness.

Earlier, head coach Gautam Gambhir had also said that no decision had been taken yet on the team for the final Test. “We haven’t talked about the combination yet,” Gambhir had said after the fourth Test in Manchester. “No call has been made on Jasprit Bumrah. Despite that, he’s still India’s joint-highest wicket-taker in the series with 14 wickets, tied with Mohammed Siraj.

India made a stunning comeback in the second innings of the fourth Test. From 0/2, they batted 143 overs with centuries from Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar, and Ravindra Jadeja, pulling off a dramatic draw to keep the series alive. India has now trails 1-2 in the five-match series.
