Deep Blue Sea (1999)

“Deep Blue Sea” is a sci fi fiction action movie that have taken place in underwater research facility called the Aquatica.Dr.Susan McAlester (Saffron Burrows) and her whole team of scientists that are conducting research on mako sharks they were doing this research for the purpose of curing Alzheimer’s disease. They have engineered sharks genetically to increase their brain size hoping that this extra brain tissue would be helpfull for their research.
However this genetic tissue also have some consequences, as it increases the sharks intelligence, strength and ability through all of these the shark have become extremely dangerous and have begin to rebel against everyone.
Open Water (2003)

“Open Water” is one the intense and low budget survival thriller that is inspired by the true story of a couple that were accidently left behind in the open ocean during a scuba diving trip.The film is followed up by Susan (Blanchard Ryan) and Daniel (Daniel Travis) both were stressed out couple who have decided to take a good vacation to a tropical island to reconnect with each other.
During this vacation Susan and Daniel decided to join a group of scuba diving trip in a charted boat. Due to some mistake or miscommunication in the headcount the couple were all left behind in the middle of the ocean while the boat have returned to the shore. Surrounded by the shark infested water Susan and Daniel were facing their fares and struggling to survive with no rescue in sight.
The film approaches uses handheld cameras mostly with real open water footage that highlights with the sense of realism and vulnerability. It explores with the theme of isolation, helplessness and unpredictability of nature while showing the physical and emotional tolerance of the couple.
The Shallows (2016)

“The Shallows” is a survival thriller movie story of Nancy Adams(Blake Lively) she was a medical student who have decided to a break from her studies and to surf at the secluded Mexican beach. The beach holds some sentiments for Nancy, as it was one of the most loved spot of her recently deceased mother.
While surfing Nancy was attacked by a great white shark and was stuck all alone in a rock formation which was about 200 yards away from the shore. With her leg severly injured and continuously shark circling around her. Nancy uses all her intelligence and find a way back to the shore without being the sharks next meal.
while the tide rises the rock slowly submerged into it and Nancy situation becomes more desperate she have also formed a very unique bond with a injured seagull which have added an emotional bond in harrowing her tale for survival.
47 Meters Down (2017)

“47 Meters Down” is full of suspense and thriller that revolves around the tale of two sisters Lisa(Mandy Moore) and Kate (Clarie Holt), who were enjoying their vacation in Mexico. They thought to make their trip more adventurous and to help Lisa from overcoming her recent breakup both the sisters decided to try cage diving surrounded by the white sharks.
They have also joined a local crew which was led by Captian Taylor(Matthew Modine) and they were board to a rickety boat which led them to their adventure. But their plan does not go on their will and have taken a very terrifying turn while the system that was holding the cage fails which cause the cage to fall 47 metre down to the ocean floor.
Whlie both of them trapped at the bottom of the ocean with only limited supply of oxygen and were surrounded by sharks, Lisa and Kate were finding a way to communicate with the surface and planning to escape. As their air supply reduced they were facing lot of challenges, including decompression sickness.
The Meg (2018)

“The Meg” is a science fiction and action based movie which is all centered around deep sea rescue diver, Jonas Taylor( Jason Statham) who was called upon to save a team of scientists after their underwater research team facility was attacked by a massive prehistoric shark which is known as Megalodon. Which was believed to be extinct millions years ago this 75 foot long Megalodon turns out to be alive in the deep depth of dark ocean.
While the Megalodon escapes in the deep ocean that trenches and threatens the lives of those who were part of the research facility, Jonas was facing all his fears and teaming up with the oceanographer Suyin Zhang( Li Bingbing)to hunt down and stop this gigantic predator before it causes any massive disturbance.
As Johnas Suyin and the team of scientists were engaging in this dangerous situation they have uncovered some unexpected secrets about this creature origin and their abilites.
