A dramatic and deadly twist has rocked Nagpur’s criminal underworld, as a secret affair between a gang leader’s wife and a trusted member spiraled into tragedy and triggered a violent manhunt. The incident has exposed deep fractures within the notorious Ippa gang, with over 40 members now hunting down their former ally, Arshad Topi, whom they accuse of betrayal and possibly murder.
The chain of events began when Arshad Topi
A long-time member of the Ippa gang, was discovered to be in a clandestine relationship with the wife of the gang’s leader. Despite warnings to end the affair, Topi continued to meet her in secret. On Thursday, the two were reportedly riding a two-wheeler near Suradevi temple in a secluded area when a JCB machine accidentally struck them. While Topi escaped with minor injuries, the woman sustained critical wounds.
A patrol vehicle from the Koradi Thermal Plant happened to pass by and rushed the injured woman to a nearby private hospital. Shockingly, she was denied treatment. A second hospital in Kamptee also refused to admit her.Topi paid an ambulance driver to take her to the Goverment Medical College and Hospital in Nagpur. Despite to save all her efforts , she succumbed to the injuries on early Friday morning.
CCTV footage from GMCH confirmed Topi’s presence at the hospital with the injured woman, further fueling suspicions within the gang. As the news of her have spread, the lppa gang have erupted believing that Topi is not betrayed by their leader but it was orchestrated by the women’s death, the whole gang have declared him as a traitor.

Seeing the situation, The DCP have directed him to the Koradi police station where his statement was recorded. Police Officer’s says that the woman’s death appears to be the result of the accident with no proper evidence.
The Gang remains unconvinced
Sources suggest that the gang leader has reached out to the criminal networks within the city, seeking support to track down Topi. The police have awared for the retaliatory violence that have placed in multiple units on a high alert and also monitoring the situation.
This incident not only exposed the voliate dynamics within the organized crime but it also highlights the danger in such circles. Nagpur law enforcement faces such dual challanges for protecting a man who was marked for death by his own gang and maintaining a order in the city on a edge.
