Mumbai: The Dussehra box-office battle is living up to its billing, with Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 tightening its stranglehold on the festive frame even as Ranabaali mounts a steady recovery, according to early trade estimates reported on Tuesday.

Jailer 2, which released on October 15, collected an estimated ₹45.55 crore India net on Tuesday (Day 6), taking its six-day India net total to ₹287.80 crore. The film’s India gross stands at ₹337 crore, while its worldwide gross has touched ₹541 crore, per Sacnilk estimates.

The day-wise trajectory tells the story of a blockbuster run: the film opened at a massive ₹59.70 crore, followed by ₹37.10 crore on Friday, ₹47.25 crore on Saturday, ₹55.85 crore on Sunday and ₹42.35 crore on Monday. The Dussehra holiday gave Tuesday a festive bump that pushed collections back past the ₹45-crore mark.

Meanwhile, Ranabaali, which hit screens a day later on October 16, is showing encouraging signs after a mid-week dip. The film earned an estimated ₹6.75 crore on Tuesday, a solid rebound from Monday’s ₹5.40 crore. Its five-day India net total now stands at ₹36.20 crore, with an India gross of ₹42.15 crore and worldwide earnings of ₹52.40 crore.

The early indicators for Ranabaali’s Day 6 (Wednesday) look healthy as well. Advance bookings have clocked an estimated ₹2.77 crore, with 1,58,498 tickets sold across 2,262 shows, and trade projections point to a day total of around ₹6 crore net — a figure that would confirm the film’s steady hold through the festive period.

The numbers confirm Jailer 2’s outright dominance of the Dussehra window, but Ranabaali’s bounce-back suggests the festive crowd has room for both films. With the extended holiday period still in play, both releases are expected to keep the registers ringing through the weekend.

Trade analysts will be watching the Wednesday numbers closely. If Ranabaali holds near the projected ₹6 crore mark while Jailer 2 maintains its festival-week strength, the Dussehra frame could well be remembered as one of the most productive clash windows of the year.

For now, the Rajinikanth juggernaut rolls on — and Ranabaali’s recovery arc gives the box office a second story worth following. Festival clashes are always a gamble, but this Dussehra has delivered genuine drama on both sides of the ledger. With strong advance sales for Wednesday, the festive frame is far from over — and exhibitors will be smiling all the way through the week.
