SHENZHEN/BEIJING: iQOO has officially confirmed that the Neo 12, its next flagship-grade smartphone, will be launched in China on October 28, 2026. The event is scheduled for 7 PM local time, which corresponds to 4:30 PM IST, and sales will begin immediately afterwards. Pre-bookings for the device have already opened through Vivo China’s official website.
The Neo 12 arrives as the successor to the iQOO Neo 11, which debuted in October 2025, and it continues the series’ positioning as a performance-first device aimed squarely at mobile gamers. Indian buyers, however, will need to wait: the company has not announced an India launch date or pricing, and there is no official word yet on when the phone will cross over to this market.
Under the hood, the Neo 12 pairs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with iQOO’s in-house Q3 gaming chip and an updated Monster Super Core Engine. The combination is designed to push sustained frame rates in demanding titles rather than merely peaking in benchmarks, a distinction the brand has leaned on heavily in its marketing.

The standout specification, at least on paper, is the battery. The company has announced a 9,000mAh fifth-generation silicon-anode cell in a single-cell design, paired with 100W wired fast charging. If real-world endurance matches the capacity figure, the Neo 12 would be among the longest-lasting phones in its segment, addressing one of the most common complaints of heavy mobile gamers: battery anxiety during extended sessions.
Thermal management gets an equally aggressive treatment. The Neo 12 integrates an active cooling fan as part of what iQOO calls its Ice Dome cooling system, with exhaust vents positioned on the right side of the device. Active fans remain rare in mainstream smartphones, and their inclusion signals how seriously the brand is pursuing the dedicated gaming niche.
The display is another headline feature. The phone carries a 2K pTSF OLED panel with a 185Hz refresh rate, 2,200 nits of full-screen peak brightness, and a minimum brightness of just 1 nit for comfortable night use. According to the company, the screen was developed in collaboration with Visionox and Tsinghua University, and it can push supported games up to 185 frames per second, matching the panel’s ceiling.

On the design front, the Neo 12 sports a flat metal frame with rounded corners and a large rounded-square rear camera module positioned at the top-left, housing two vertically stacked lenses with the flash placed outside the module. The rear carries “Monster Inside” branding alongside a circular mesh grille, and the device was designed in collaboration with the China Academy of Art. It will be offered in three colourways: Contest, Shadow Black, and Frost Blade Blue.
For the Indian market, the Neo 12 is worth watching for what it suggests about where the sub-flagship gaming segment is heading. Phones in this bracket have traditionally competed on chipset and display, but the Neo 12’s active cooling and 9,000mAh battery indicate that manufacturers are now attacking the two pain points, heat and endurance, that define the mobile gaming experience.
Whether iQOO can carry this hardware across to India at a competitive price will decide its relevance here. The Neo series has historically reached Indian shores within weeks of its Chinese debut, so clarity on pricing and availability should emerge soon. Until then, gamers will have to content themselves with the specifications sheet, which is, by any measure, formidable.
